Kansas City's Union Horse Distillery has quietly been producing some of the United States' finest craft whiskeys since 2010, with little fanfare and few price increases. Today their 'Reunion' Rye is one of the few top-notch craft rye whiskeys made from 100% rye, sourced locally, and aged 5+ years in new charred American oak. Spicy and assertive, it nonetheless is rich, smooth, and balanced enough to make an ideal sipping whiskey. (Paired with Casa Mariol 'Vermut Negre' and some Angostura bitters, it also makes the ultimate Manhattan -- at least in our opinion!)
