The 2023 Gruner Veltliner Ried Steinsetz grows on a former riverbed of an old Danubian arm, with mostly sandy, pebbly deposits and a slight loess cover. Peppermint tea appears on the nose before the herbal savor of yarrow and chervil arrives with charm. The palate is bright and carries these herbal notes nonchalantly, dispersing them with ease and joy. The finish holds white pepper and abundant pear juiciness.
