The quality of the reds allowed us to use an important percentage of whole clusters. Gentle vinification, smooth extraction. We are very pleased with the floral bouquet, with nice dark fruits. The tannins are very well integrated , with a delicate touch and texture.

The 2018 Volnay Les Taillepieds 1er Cru is 100% whole cluster like the Mitans, but has an earthier bouquet than the Champans or Mitans, mulch and autumn leaves infusing the dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with good depth, although this is one cuvée where I feel the whole cluster dominates the finish in lieu of terroir expression.
