Intense, sharply focused black raspberry, boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors turn sweeter through the back half. Shows excellent clarity and spicy thrust on a long, subtly tannic finish that strongly echoes the floral and blue fruit notes.

Bolstered by the historical research of winemaker Daniel Callan, this three-vineyard blend of such grapes as Black Malvoisie, Napa Gamay, Pinot St. George, Crabb's Black Burgundy and Cabernet Pfeffer is the first step in what should be an amazing journey. Aromas of dark cherry and bay leaf lead into a zippy palate of lavender, elderberry and cracked-pepper flavors.
