WSET Level 3 In Montclair

WSET Level 3 Award: Great for those who already have a broad foundation of wine knowledge (including wine labeling laws, appellation systems, major wine-producing regions, and grape types) and are experienced in tasting technique. It covers the major wine regions of the world in more depth than the Level 2 Award, and includes more detailed study of viticulture and vinification. This course enables students to describe the characteristics of the principal wines of the world and to explain the key factors accounting for those characteristics.
The class will be held in-person on Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Montclair classroom starting January 7th, 2027. The course consists of 15 classes followed by a review session and a final exam on May 13th. The syllabus is available here.
The exam includes multiple-choice and short-answer questions, as well as a blind tasting of two wines. Level 3 is required of applicants for the Level 4 Diploma course.
Please note that WSET Level 2 (or comparable experience or certification from another wine education organization) is a required prerequisite to take Level 3.
Students must register by December 15th of 2026. Tuition is $2100 and is due two weeks before class starts.
Students may receive a full refund if they cancel 1-week prior to the first class date. If a student cancels anytime within 7 days of first class or afterwards, they may apply their balance to future WSET classes. Refunds will not be available any time after class commences.
Attendance is very important to the success of this class. Missing session 2 or session 3 is not permitted. Missing 3 or more sessions may result in withholding of the exam.
An exam commitment form will be given to students mid-course, at which point students must agree to take the exam or decide to abstain.
