Chiara Boschis: One of the most important growers in all of Italy, Chiara now has eleven hectares of vines under cultivation in the communes of Barolo, Serralunga and Monforte d’Alba. She retains the honor of the first female winemaker in the Langhe, and though she came from a family of Barolisti, she braved incredible obstacles in the 1990s to earn that title. She is, by necessity, of unquestionable confidence, determination, patience and charm. She ran the estate essentially by herself for twenty years, but after the sale of Borgogno in 2008, her brother Giorgio became a free agent. In 2010, he, his wife Daniella and their three daughters joined Chiara at E. Pira, which provided not only a welcome division of labor, but also a next generation of female successors: Beatrice, Elena and Vittoria Boschis, Giorgio and Daniella’s daughters, are already enjoying their experiences at the “new” family winery! Chiara Boschis was the first estate in Cannubi to convert to organic farming, but she didn’t stop there! Chiara has worked tirelessly Chiara has worked tirelessly over the last few years to convince the rest of the growers in the district to become organic!

Chef Leia Gaccione is the chef-owner of The Saint Clair, an elegant yet soulful modern American restaurant in the heart of downtown Montclair, NJ. A passionate advocate for seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine rooted in local terroir, The Saint Clair represents the culmination of more than two decades spent honing her craft, pushing boundaries, and building community through food. Born and raised in Passaic, NJ, Leia’s culinary journey began at home—cooking out of necessity while her mother worked multiple jobs. Inspired early by culinary legends like Julia Child and The Frugal Gourmet, she developed a personal philosophy long before stepping into a professional kitchen: food should be purposeful, local, nourishing—and made with heart. In 2015, Leia opened South+Pine American Eatery in Morristown, NJ—a heartfelt, seasonally driven concept that quickly became a defining fixture in New Jersey’s dining scene. It earned accolades including New Jersey Monthly’s Critics’ Choice for Best American Restaurant and was widely celebrated for its warmth, soul, and sense of community. She later expanded with Central+Main in Madison, continuing her mission to serve nourishing food with purpose. At The Saint Clair, Leia brings her vision to life in full—offering bold, expressive menus rooted in New Jersey’s seasonal bounty and elevated with global perspective. It is a space where thoughtful hospitality, refined technique, and heartfelt storytelling come together in every dish.

Chef Ariane Duarte’s love for cooking began as she was growing up, watching her grandmother cook the family dinners. She applied and was accepted to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Upon her graduation, she was hired as a sous chef at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange. Two years later she accepted a line cook position at The Terrace in NYC. After three years, she accepted a position as the lead grill cook at Dallas’ prestigious Star Canyon. Here she met her husband, Michael, with whom she moved to Chicago to cook in his family’s restaurant. While in Chicago she broadened her culinary knowledge by taking a position at Trio, and as an assistant for one of Charlie Trotter’s cookbooks. She moved back to NJ and accepted the position of opening chef de cuisine for Vine. Within eight months she was given the title of Executive Chef. During the same time, Ariane was also running her own catering company, CulinAriane, in New Jersey. When Vine closed its doors, Ariane and Michael opened CulinAriane. Presented with the opportunity to be on Top Chef Season 5, Ariane jumped at the chance. In 2013 she competed and won the premiere season of “Cook Your Ass Off.” With appearances on the Today Show, Iron Chef, and the Tyra Banks Show she has not stopped. She has also been a contributing chef for several magazines. In December 2015, Ariane competed on a special holiday episode of Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay,” defeating Moroccan French chef Adil Fawzi for the chance to go up against Flay and eventually conquering chef Flay to win. Ariane opened her restaurant Ariane Kitchen & Bar in Verona, New Jersey in the fall of 2014. After eight wonderful years, she sold the business, looking to take some personal time, however in January 2022, she and Michael opened up CulinAriane Caterers.
