Explorer Series: Give Chardonnay a CHANCE!
Saturday January 24, 2026 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
In recent years, “anything but Chardonnay” has become a popular mantra; as wine preferences shift from the big, oaky, and over-the-top styles favored a couple of decades ago toward fresher, lighter styles, many current wine drinkers love to say they hate Chardonnay. But is that fair? Favored for its relatively neutral style and ability to clearly express the climate and soil in which it grows, Chardonnay remains one of the wine world’s ‘noble’ grape varieties precisely because it doesn’t result in a singular style of wine—so if you can’t stand the buttery, toasty, highly alcoholic Chardonnays of the 80s and 90s, it actually doesn’t mean you dislike Chardonnay as a whole!
In this class, we’ll explore multiple styles and regions of wine made from Chardonnay to see how different (and delicious) it can be in a cooler-climate, in a sparkling wine, without the influence of new oak, and much more! Join us & give Chardonnay a chance, you’ll be surprised how much you like it!
