Pale yellow straw color; immediate aromatic richness with ripe stone fruits, smoke and a suggestion of spearmint. Intense and layered palate with mouth-filling peach and quince flavors that are powerful yet tightly coiled. Excellent
balance between density and structure - all elements are integrated and harmonious. Great volume on the mid-palate leading to a fresh savory finish with trademark vibrant acidity offering clarity and focus. Serve no cooler than 55 degrees. Drink between 2011 and 2017.
Wine Advocate
The 2008 Chardonnay Clare is the most restrained and closed offering in this group. Also made from an old Wente clone in the well-known Hyde Vineyard in Carneros, it exhibits a stony, Corton-Charlemagne-like personality filled with notions of white currants, quince, crushed rocks and lemon oil. The wine possesses zesty acidity, a big, full-bodied mouthfeel and terrific purity, texture and length. Give it another 6-12 months of bottle age and enjoy it over the following decade.

Biodynamic designation is regulated by Demeter, an international certification organization. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the view of a farm as a self-contained organism. Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
