Bremerton

The concept behind the “Tamblyn” blend was developed when we decided we wanted to craft a wine that people were able to appreciate that night or cellar for a few years. We have blended a complex flavoured wine by utilising the characters of each of the varieties, at the same time achieving a soft well rounded approachable palate structure.

Wine Enthusiast

Shows plenty of palate weight, but very little tannin, combining cedar and vanilla from oak with slightly grapy, black cherry flavors. It’s ready to drink now; don’t count on aging it for very long.

Score: 88. —Joe Czerwinski, May 01, 2008.

Wine Advocate

The 2005 Tamblyn is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Shiraz, 7% Malbec, and 5% Merlot. The wine was aged for 15 months in a mix of French and American oak, a small percentage new. Purple-colored, the aromatics are restrained with black currant and blueberry ultimately making an appearance. This is followed by a lean wine with an abrupt finish. Perhaps time will smooth out this wine but that is a gamble.

Score: 85. —Jay Miller, October 2007.
