That’s right, Italian wine fans! We are beyond excited to announce that winemaker Giusto Occhipinti will be coming to Montclair on THURSDAY, May 2nd @ 6PM, for a deep dive into his legendary COS estate and tasting of his world class wines! One of the most important biodynamic/natural wineries in all of Italy, COS needs little or no introduction to the contemporary Italian wine fan. We've long been a fan of this fantastic winery and Occhipinti's stunning expressions of Sicily’s indigenous varietals like Nero d’Avola and Frappato are arguably the finest in the world. The freshness and balance for which COS became famous are helped by the soils in the Vittoria region, blessed with limestone. For Giusto, “the vineyard is like our life’s savings in the bank, so we must protect it.” Protecting it means that they work organically and biodynamically to support the health of the soil and the terroir. In fact, he has never used any synthetic or chemical additives in the vineyard since the outset in 1980. We cannot wait to have this living legend in the shop to lead this tasting/seminar.
